Learning to write is about practice. My approach is as follows:
-- Develop outline of the paper or essay to be written.
-- Advise student on how to compose a first draft.
-- Review and provide feedback on content, paragraph and sentence structure, and grammar.
-- Assist student to prepare second and subsequent drafts until satisfactory final product is achieved.
My approach with students is patient and humorous -- but demanding with regard to student focus and effort.
My work is primarily with middle school and high school students.
