About Sarah
I have been teaching violin for 30+ years in a wide range of settings, including private one-to-one lessons and at educational establishments across the country. As an award-winning performer I have toured the world as a leader of a jazz quartet and I have worked extensively as a session musician in many genres, including work for BBC television and radio. I have an up-to-date enhanced DBS certificate.

My teaching philosophy is based on defining your expectations and meeting them by tailoring your lessons to your learning style. This is done by designing an individual learning pathway which will be created in partnership with you, this will turn your goals and commitment into achievable progress. I was classically trained and I teach to an advanced level. Although I have performed many genres professionally, I teach all styles with classical technique. I have won awards as a jazz violinist as leader of my own quartet, and have run improvisation and creative workshops at various locations throughout the UK. I average 100 students per week, including group lessons, one-to-one violin instruction, music theory tuition, improvisation, performance coaching and graded exam preparation. I offer lessons suitable for all abilities in: Classical (including graded exams), Jazz and Folk. My students range in age from 4-75 years old, it's never too early or too late to pursue your ambitions as a violinist! If you have any questions, feel free to message me for more information.
