About Julie
Art has been a lifelong journey for me. Over the past 25 years, I have developed my practice as a professional artist while also supporting others through teaching and art therapy-informed work.
I understand that learning art can feel vulnerable at times. That is why I create a calm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable exploring and improving at their own pace.
My approach blends technical precision with empathy — helping students not only improve their skills, but also enjoy the process.

Every student is different — and that is where the real learning begins.
My private lessons are completely tailored to the individual. Whether you are a beginner picking up a pencil for the first time or an experienced artist wanting to refine technique, I meet you exactly where you are.
I focus on building strong foundational skills in drawing and observation while also nurturing confidence and creative voice. My approach is patient, encouraging and structured without being rigid.
With my background in art therapy-informed practice, I create a calm and supportive space where students feel safe to experiment, make mistakes and grow.
Art is not about perfection — it is about development, awareness and self-trust.

Details
Small groups of 4–6 students
$35 per hour per person.
I allow an extra 15 minutes before each session for tea/coffee and a gentle lead-in to the lesson, creating a calm and welcoming space before we begin.
