About Amanda
I have 8 years of teaching experience and hold a Master of Science in Mathematics Education. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with learners of different academic backgrounds, helping them strengthen algebraic reasoning through supportive mentorship, structured lessons, and personalized guidance. My teaching philosophy emphasizes helping students understand algebra through logical reasoning, curiosity, and meaningful practice rather than memorizing procedures. Before beginning instruction, I assess each learner's mathematical background, confidence level, learning preferences, study habits, and academic objectives. Using this information, I develop customized lesson plans that strengthen essential algebraic foundations before gradually introducing more advanced concepts through carefully organized instruction.
Students receive comprehensive instruction in algebraic expressions, equations, inequalities, graphing, linear and quadratic functions, polynomial operations, rational expressions, radicals, exponent rules, logarithmic relationships, systems of equations, sequences, algebraic identities, coordinate methods, and mathematical modeling. Lessons combine conceptual explanations, guided demonstrations, visual learning activities, collaborative discussions, structured exercises, independent practice, and reflective problem-solving. Students regularly explain their reasoning, evaluate multiple solving strategies, and identify mathematical relationships that improve conceptual understanding and long-term retention.
