About Isabel
Hey, I’m Hope
I’m a UWC BA Sociology graduate from Boksburg, and I believe every learner can succeed with the right support and the right environment. I’m not the “scary teacher” type — I’m the tutor who makes you feel safe enough to say “I don’t understand” and patient enough to explain it 5 different ways until it clicks.
My Story
I’ve been the student who stared at a math problem and felt completely stuck. I’ve also been the student who pushed through, graduated with my degree, and got inducted into the Golden Key Honor Society — top 15% at UWC. That journey taught me one thing: _it’s not about being smart. It’s about having someone believe in you and breaking things down until they make sense._
That’s exactly what I bring to my tutoring.

But it’s not just about subjects. I help learners build confidence, develop study skills, and stop saying “I’m bad at this.” Because once the confidence comes, the marks follow.
*What Makes Me Different*
1. *No judgment classroom* - You can ask “but why?” as many times as you need. I won’t laugh.
2. *Real-life examples* - We don’t use boring textbook questions. We use Boksburg examples: taxis, spaza shops, Shoprite specials. Math finally makes sense when it’s about your life.
3. *WhatsApp support* - Stuck on homework at 8pm? Send me one question and I’ll voice-note you a 1-minute explanation. I’m here when you actually need help, not just during the lesson.
4. *From my experience* - Working at McDonald's taught me to stay calm under pressure. My BA research training taught me how to break big problems into small pieces. I bring both to every session.

In 4 weeks, you’ll either understand the topic you’re stuck on, or you’ll know exactly what you need to study to pass your next test. If that doesn’t happen, we’ll keep trying different approaches until it does.

I’m also on my own journey — losing 55kg and building a luxury water brand called ÉLAN. So I know what it means to start small, stay consistent, and not give up when it gets hard. I bring that same energy to my students.
