About Sophie

I am passionate about supporting students through private tuition. It is incredibly rewarding to see transformations in students' confidence and the progress in their learning. I always take the time to understand each student's needs and provide great care and attention when hosting tutorials. I feel strongly about students enjoying their learning and like to ensure it works for them! In my spare time, I enjoy paddle boarding in the sea, slacklining and am setting myself the new challenge of learning to surf this year.

About the lesson

I have several years of experience as a private tutor where I have managed education centres and provided online lessons. I graduated with a First-Class-Honours degree in Business Economics. I have an A level in Maths and achieved an A grade in my Maths GCSE. In tutorials, you will expect to see me engaging with students by collaborating and forming a personalised learning plan which is tailored to their needs. Open communication will be important as tutorials will be adapted to suit a student's requests for topics. I offer one hour lessons, the tuition is suited to GCSE Maths students and those working towards GCSE.

Perfect! Sophie has been a brilliant teacher so far. She has given me the confidence I needed in a short space of time.

I needed a teacher who could not only improve my confidence but a teacher who could understand my level and learning style. Sophie has done this, her approach was to first understand my maths knowledge and then to create a realistic strategy with the time scale provided.

She was able to bring her extensive experience of teaching GCSE maths and adapted them around Functional skill level 2.

Sophie is reliable and trustworthy. She’s been extremely professional but above all patient, this was important to me, her manner is calm and gives off a positive energy. When I haven’t understood a topic, I have felt I can express this with out feeling stupid.

I’m very confident that Sophie will help me achieve a pass in FS maths in the limited time she has. I can recommend Sophie to give you the support and knowledge you may require.
