About Chloe

I’ve been working in education for a few years. I’m also a current student at university studying English Language and German. I work as a Study Coach at a local college. I primarily support students in GCSE lessons or assignment writing. I also do a lot of studying myself and assignment writing four times a year for university. I have worked with students aged 6-18 (primary, secondary and college) and even worked with adult students over 18 who are retaking a GCSE years after being in education the first time. I really enjoy crocheting, reading, and playing video games (PS, Xbox, Nintendo) in my free time. I also run a small business where I sell crochet items and polymer clay jewellery. I like to be busy and enjoy learning new things, which is a big reason why I like teaching people; you learn new things from others and in the course of teaching all the time.

About the lesson

When tutoring students, I aim to teach the topics of a subject in small blocks - I break them down and set small tasks to aid their understanding and help them practise the topic. I try to build knowledge of a topic from learning to expertise at the right pace for the student. I always encourage mistakes and use these to help students learn from them. I will assess what topics are weakest in the free introductory lesson and cover topics such as number, money, algebra, shapes, angles, ratio and more. I aim for students to understand a topic and feel confident in learning. I can help with primary school level topics and GCSE topics or equivalent.

Working with Crispen (parent) and his daughter (the student) was lovely! She worked hard and tried her best in our sessions to the point where I'm confident she will pass her June 2022 exams in Maths and Science! I will miss working with a student who is so keen to learn and improve and a fun student to work with!
