About Maria Isabel
I have been teaching Spanish for many years. I started giving Spanish lessons at the Alliance Française in Venezuela, my country, to French-speaking learners. When I was studying at the University for my BA in Literature, I was an assistant professor in the course of Spanish Morphosyntax. I also have worked in editing in Spanish. Since I arrived to live in New Zealand, I have had three Spanish learners, one of whom received Latin American Literature classes because he was an advanced Spanish learner.

My methodology consists of reading a story adapted to the level of the learner. This reading would be the starting point to learn vocabulary, basic grammar, verb tenses, make comments, and further writings as homework. Those readings would be about day-to-day activities. I work with adult learners.

Perfect! I'm really enjoying my lessons with Marisabel, it's like a big breath of fresh air in the middle of my work week. We share the same love of languages and her approach perfectly suits me: We start the class with a bit of conversation and then read a text together, all the while introducing new vocabulary and grammatical concepts.
