About Douglas
Since I was a child I already had a special affinity with music, untill the middle of 2004/2005, when I was 14 years old and started playing guitar. In 2010 I started playing cavaquinho, passing in a short time to play samba in bars and theaters in the city of São Paulo. Since then I have learned by miself and with some teachers the technique and theory of these instruments. In 2013 I graduated in law, worked for some time as a lawyer, until 2017 when I started to work exclusively with music.

I have a methodology that uses the practice and theory so that the student can play well the instrument. With the students of cavaquinho I have been developing a methodology focused on samba, preparing the student to have autonomy in the context of a "roda de samba" (Meeting of musicians that play samba): playing the songs you want and those that the lead singer ask you, in any tone or harmonic sequence. In this process I privilege always when its posible the songs that the student wants to learn. Regarding the guitar, my approach is focused into the technique of the instrument, including themes like rhythms, chords, tonality, harmonic fields among others. All of this considering the songs/stile that the student wants to learn. Both for students of cavaquinho and guitar, I send at the end of every class materials made by myself, with theoretical part, historical references, audiovisual etc.
