About Paige

As a college student, I know that sometimes it is easy to feel lost during testing and application season and how frustrating it can be when you feel like you do not understand something or do not know where to start. Thus, my approach is straightforward: I focus on building a strong foundation so that exams and application prep become more intuitive, manageable, and logical. Furthermore, my foundation has been strengthened by having aided previous students in applying to colleges. These students have gone on to attend T10 and R1 universities.

My ultimate goal is for you to come out of each session feeling like you have a solid understanding of the topic at hand in an environment where no question is too small and we work at your pace.

About the lesson

I take a personalized approach to teaching, always adjusting my lesson plans to what the student requests for what they are struggling with understanding. I use active recall and step-by-step problem-solving to focus on the fundamental concepts, especially using examples that they can see in their everyday lives, to allow them to build an intuition for the questions and branch out into more complicated examples and homework problems.

For a typical test-prep oriented session, we will start with reviewing any concepts from the previous session that the student struggled with. Then, we would move into the current week's topics, go through the material, and then focus on the topics that the student has questions about. Finally, I will leave them with some practice problems to think through and come to the next session with.

Throughout high school, I was a peer tutor for mathematics for all levels, ranging from introductory algebra to calculus I. Thus, I am qualified to tutor any level of middle and high school math.

Additionally, as a biology major, I have taken science courses across all disciplines (biology/life science, chemistry, and physics, and earth science), and thus, I am excited to spread my love for science and tutor a middle or high school student taking any of these classes. I have also tutored in these subjects.

Alternatively, for an application prep-oriented session, we would start off with reviewing the upcoming deadlines and our goals and then move on to reviewing current materials.
