About Shirley

I am a nurturing and experienced practitioner who thrives to motivate my learners. We can have fun and enjoy creating imaginative stories and this starts with listening and talking. Let's share our ideas together and build our literacy skills in a fun and engaging way!

About the lesson

I have 20 years' experience in teaching children from p1-p7 in Scotland. I have experience in helping children with dyslexic-type difficulties and gaps in their learning. I have worked with children with additional support needs throughout my career and I believe that growing the child's self-confidence and self-esteem is paramount in increasing a growth mindset and a belief that they can succeed. I will establish a positive relationship with my learners and help them to reach their potential. I can teach children early reading and writing skills or develop and build on skills they have mastered so far on their learning journey.
