About Nicola

I am a kind and friendly teacher. I like to read, walk and spend time with my family. I enjoy going on long walks at the weekend and getting outside into the fresh air. Also, enjoying cosying up with some popcorn to watch a good movie.

About the lesson

Creating a Positive and Supportive Environment. I believe that children learn best when they feel safe, encouraged, and confident. I focus on building a positive relationship with each child, ensuring they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes—an essential part of learning. Understanding Each Child’s Learning Style. Every child is unique, so I take time to observe and understand their preferred learning style. Whether they are visual learners who benefit from pictures and diagrams, auditory learners who respond well to discussion, or kinaesthetic learners who need hands-on activities, I tailor my teaching methods accordingly. Making Learning Engaging and Fun. Children learn best when they are actively engaged. I use interactive activities such as games, storytelling, role-playing, and real-world examples to make lessons enjoyable and relatable. This approach helps maintain their attention and fosters a love for learning. Building Confidence Through Encouragement. Many children struggle with self-doubt in academics. For difficult topics, I simplify concepts into smaller, manageable steps. I involve children in the learning process by asking open-ended questions, encouraging critical thinking, and allowing them to explain concepts in their own words. This deepens their understanding and strengthens their communication skills. Fostering a Love for Reading and Problem-Solving. Reading and problem-solving are foundational skills in education.
