About Chris

Hi, I'm Chris – founder of Chrislexia, an inclusive movement empowering neurodivergent learners through education, sport, storytelling, and advocacy. I’m a qualified primary teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching and tutoring across Years 1 to 6—and I’m proudly dyslexic and dyspraxic. Before teaching, I worked in performance, coaching, and community outreach, which gave me a deep understanding of how to connect with people, build confidence, and make learning engaging and fun. Now, I bring that same energy and empathy into every tutoring session. I specialise in English (reading, writing, SPaG), SATs prep, and confidence coaching—particularly for children who are neurodivergent or need a different approach to thrive. My sessions are highly personalised, multi-sensory, and rooted in real-life contexts. I use humour, visual tools, movement, and creative strategies to make learning stick—and feel safe. Through Chrislexia Learning, I also offer CPD and training to schools on neuroinclusive practice. Everything I do is built around the idea that being different isn’t something to “fix”—it’s something to understand, support, and celebrate. About the lesson

I’m Chris – a qualified primary educator and experienced tutor with over 10 years of working with learners from Year 1 to Year 6. As someone who is proudly neurodivergent (dyslexic and dyspraxic), I bring empathy, creativity, and lived understanding to every lesson. I specialise in tutoring English (reading, writing, SPaG), SATs preparation, and confidence-building—especially for neurodivergent students or those who’ve struggled in traditional settings. My teaching approach is warm, flexible, and personalised. I use multi-sensory techniques, real-life contexts, and scaffolded tasks to help students feel safe, understood, and capable. Over the years, I’ve helped learners with ADHD, autism, dyslexia and processing difficulties build skills and self-belief. Whether your child needs support breaking down complex writing tasks, catching up on missed learning, or simply finding their voice on the page, I tailor each session to fit them—not the other way around. I have a deep knowledge of the UK primary curriculum and SATs assessments, and I design lessons that meet learners where they are while helping them move forward with confidence.
