About Ethan
Hey, I am a first-year student at the University of Auckland who graduated from Westlake Boys High School last year. My qualifications to date are:
- NCEA Level 1, 2 and 3 endorsed with Excellence
- NZQA Scholarships in Calculus and Statistics in Year 11 (2023)
- NZQA Scholarships in Calculus, Statistics, Chemistry, Economics, English, and Outstanding Scholarship in Physics, in Year 12 (2024)
- NZQA Outstanding Scholar 2024 (top 60 students nationally)
- NZQA Scholarships in Calculus, Chemistry, Biology, English, and Outstanding Scholarships in Physics, Statistics and Economics in Year 13 (2025)
- NZQA Premier Scholar in 2025 (top 13 students nationally).
Given my academic success so far, I greatly believe that it is important for me to pass on my knowledge. I enjoy helping others and have experience from doing so at school, which has helped me develop my teaching skills to best accommodate all students.

Each lesson aims to help students engage with their learning in a meaningful manner. I believe to truly excel, it is not enough to just know the content but genuinely understand it. In the 1-2 hour sessions, we will explain and discuss the material at hand in detail to develop foundations and build solid knowledge, then apply and consolidate this through practice, and review the lesson at the end. As a graduated year 13 student who studied NCEA, I have firsthand experience and tips that I can share to help students succeed.
