I like to assess the student's learning styles before creating a curriculum. If they are able to retain through text, we will work through textbooks and I will explain concepts verbally or through passages. If they are auditory learners, we would work through Khan programs and video-based learning. If they are visual, I will draw lots of diagrams, graphs, animations, and tables to solidify concepts. If they are interactive, I would recommend kits to use, activities to partake in, and practice problems to delve into. Many people do well with mixed learning or utilizing many different types of learning, which would be incorporated. I like to adjust the curriculum to the student's schedule and what they want out of it- this determines hours met, work at home, and content covered. For content, I am able to help in: Biology: all high school subjects, genetics, proteins and cells, anatomy, physiology, ecology, and evolution. Chemistry: lab skills, general chemistry, high school chemistry, MCAT content Physics: mechanics and kinetics Math: middle school math, trigonometry, basic and advanced algebra, precalculus, calculus 1 and 2 psychology, sociology, social sciences, government, literature Language: Spanish I can also design and help with AP studying and over the summer course preparation
