About Katy
Hi! I'm a postgraduate university student with a passion for Geography and the wider humanities. I have always enjoyed helping others learn. As the oldest of four siblings, I have spent many years helping my younger sisters and brother with their schoolwork. I love making difficult topics easier to understand and helping students discover an enjoyment of learning.
I’ve had the opportunity to teach in schools in Rwanda, which gave me the chance to work with students in very different learning environments and deepened my appreciation for teaching.
Outside of academics, I'm a keen dog lover and outdoor swimmer — and I'm always happy to chat about either!

My aim is to make Geography manageable, enjoyable and rewarding. I teach GCSE and A-level Geography students of all abilities, from those who need help building their foundations and confidence to students looking to push themselves towards the highest grades.
I use clear explanations, discussion, active recall, exam-style questions and targeted feedback, with a strong focus on exam technique. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. As the oldest of four children, I've spent many years helping my younger siblings with their schoolwork, which has made me patient, approachable and adaptable.
I achieved an A* in A-level Geography and was top of my class. Having scored 59/60 in my Geography NEA, I have particular expertise in supporting students through the coursework portion of their A-level, alongside the wider course.
Lessons are typically one hour per week, but I am always happy to adapt the frequency or focus depending on the student's needs.
