About Benjamin
I am an engineer, part-time private tutor, and Cambridge University Chemical Engineering graduate (MEng and BA). At Cambridge (Downing College) I particularly enjoyed papers concerning compressible flows, turbulent dynamics, heat and mass transfer, and the study of partial differential equations. My thesis research was concerned with modelling synthetic heart valves and improving valve-lifetime predictions. Throughout my university years, I have been a member of The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) .
I am an enthusiastic believer in the power of education and know that I have the requisite skills to deliver high quality tutoring to students from 11+ to A-levels (and to undergraduate level for Maths, Chemistry, and Physics). These skills include creativity, patience, and the ability to tailor a lesson plan to the aptitudes of the individual student.
My own academic record is one of competence, receiving As and A*s at A-Level, and producing highly-regarded work at university - my thesis was particularly well-praised. I have undertaken a number of professional internships whilst at university and held numerous roles of responsibility within different societies from the robotics society to the rifle club.
