About Ilda

After having previously taught Marketing for a few years I have decided to chase an old dream and became an English and Portuguese as a Foreign Language teacher. I have a Cambridge CELTA certificate and over these last years I have helped many students achieve their language goals, I hope you are the next one!

Hi, my name is Ilda, and I’m here to help you learn Portuguese in an easy way. [Olá, o meu nome é Ilda e estou aqui para te ajudar a falar português de uma forma simples e prática.] My teaching style is relaxed but professional, and I will adapt the lessons according to your needs. [A minha forma de ensinar é descontraída mas profissional, e irei adaptar as lições de acordo com as tuas necessidades.] You can learn things like: [Poderás aprender o seguinte] - Language for greeting: [Linguagem para cumprimentar] 'Hi, how are you?’ [Olá, como está?] 'I’m fine, thank you.' [Estou bem, obrigada.] - Language for repetition: [Linguagem para repetição] 'Sorry, could you repeat that?' [Pode repetir isso, por favor?] - Language for tourism: [Linguagem para turismo] 'Excuse me, could you tell me where the Oceanário is?' [Por favor, onde fica o Oceanário?] 'It’s in Parque das Nações.' [Fica no Parque das Nações.] 'How can I get there?' [E como se vai para lá?] 'You can take the underground (metro) to Estação do Oriente.‘ [Tem de apanhar o metro até à Estação do Oriente.] - Language for discussions: [Linguagem para debater] 'What’s your opinion?‘ [Qual é a tua opinião?] 'I agree with you.' [Eu concordo contigo.’] - Language for meetings: [Linguagem para reuniões] 'Hi everyone, thank you for attending this meeting.'
