About Esther

I'm a native Portuguese teacher. I have 20 years' teaching experience. I have worked at some of the biggest schools in the UK and companies around the world. I have helped many students from all over the world improve their Portuguese and I can help you too.

I offer one to one lessons via Skype, which is just as effective as having them face to face, and will also save you money.

I can help you improve your general Portuguese to sound more like a native speaker. I can also help you improve your business / professional language, and make you sound more professional in the workplace, or prepare you for job interviews.

I have helped a wide variety of people improve their Portuguese.

I have worked in-company for financial institutions such as Vale Canada Ltd, Deere Brazil, Reckitt Benckiser, Cummins – International, Hotels . com, Ariba, JP Morgan, Cerner International, Ford Motors, Apple, DaVita, Royal Canin, British and American Tobacco, among others.

I will tailor the lessons to your own particular needs, and they will be structured to help you learn in the way that you find most effective.

I am available on weekdays and in the evenings.

The first lesson is FREE. This allows us to meet and talk about your objectives, and gives me the opportunity to analyse your skills in reading/writing/listening/speaking. After this meeting you may decide if you want to begin paying for lessons or not.

About the lesson

Lessons can be at times that are convenient to you, and you do not have to stick to a fixed timetable.

Whatever your level, beginner, intermediate or advanced I can help you to improve your spoken and/or written Portuguese. I believe that to improve your Portuguese quickly and efficiently it is important that your learning is enjoyable. That is why I will take time to get to know you, to find out what you want to learn and what kind of learning suits you best.

If you want to improve your Portuguese for conversation, then I will plan lessons that are focused on topics that interest you. If you need Portuguese for employment or study then I would like to know what type of work you will be doing, or what you will be studying. If you will be taking any exams then I will provide past papers that can be used for practice.

I am happy to provide details of my qualifications and experience, as well as references from previous students.

The classes will focus on the skills that you need to succeed. I will clearly explain the grammar, vocabulary, and exam skills you require. Then I will give you exam exercises to practice and synthesize these skills.

My lessons are focused and enjoyable. You will find me friendly and ready to help with any problems you are having with your Portuguese. I enjoy meeting people from different countries and learning about them.
