About Soomin

Hi there, fellow K-pop lovers!

My journey with K-pop started all the way back in my childhood, recording legends like Seotaiji and Boys and Fin.K.L on VHS tapes just to rewatch them a hundred times. I’ve watched the entire history of K-pop unfold!

I was born and raised in Seoul, Korea. Later as an adult, while working in Japan, I rediscovered my passion. When someone asked me who my favorite BTS member was, I didn't know the answer—so I started researching them on YouTube. That was it! I fell down the rabbit hole, joined the official fan club, and was lucky enough to attend the BTS Osaka Dome concerts two years in a row! Today, I actively follow and listen to BTS, Blackpink, Aespa, and many more.

While my English isn't perfectly fluent, I believe this is a huge advantage for our lessons! It means we will naturally use more Korean during class, helping you practice in a 100% immersive environment. I love exchanging languages, and we can learn from each other in a cozy, comfortable atmosphere without any pressure.

As a native Korean, I realized something wonderful: why not help other passionate fans practice Korean while singing the songs we both love? Let's connect through our favorite music!

About the lesson

My Teaching Method: Master a Song Together!

Listen & Repeat Loops: We won’t just rush through the song. We will break it down line by line, listen to short sections together, and practice repeating them until you get the rhythm and flow down.

Estimated Time to Master One Song:

- Beginner: ~4 to 5 sessions (focusing on the chorus and key parts).
- Intermediate/Advanced: ~2 to 3 sessions (learning the full song, including rap sections!).
* Note: The estimated time may vary depending on the student's individual level and the difficulty of the chosen song.

Fun & Light Homework: To make the most of our class time, I will ask you to listen to our target song at least 3-5 times between lessons and hum along. Consistency makes perfect!

Who This Lesson Is For:

This class is designed for students who already know a little bit of Korean (can read Hangul) and want to practice natural pronunciation and conversation through K-pop lyrics. Whether you want to sing perfectly, discuss your favorite idols, or write fan letters to your bias, we will customize the lesson plan completely around your needs!
