About Sela
I am an undergraduate student, studying BSc Politics, Philosophy and Economics at RHUL. This broad course has equipped me with valuable, interchangeable skills which would be an asset to tutoring English.
I studied English Literature at GCSE and, after developing a passion for it, also took it on at A-Level. At GCSE level, I achieved a grade 8 (A*), and also achieved this grade for English Language.
I then went on to achieve a grade A at A-Level.
Aside from my academic English studies, I have always loved English Literature, reading and writing. I spend a lot of my time writing creatively, and have had several pieces published in young writing competitions.

My teaching method is to ensure that the assessment objectives are understood, so that they can be broken down and addressed one by one. This way, I believe a criteria will inevitably form which can be referred to with every writing task. After mastering each assessment objective separately, it will be much easier to incorporate them simultaneously and naturally into any writing piece.
Aside from this more direct approach to studying English Literature, other relevant exercises will of course be invaluable. Whole text knowledge will be crucial and there will be various ways this can be achieved. For example, questions on the plot and quotations of characters would maximise understanding and knowledge of the text.
