About Matthew
I am a Politics & Policy graduate with experience in academic research, policy writing, and student support. As a former university sabbatical officer, I represented students and worked directly on crafting and influencing university and student association policy, which gave me strong skills in analysis and communication. Currently, I work for the Citizens Advice Bureau, supporting people with complex financial and welfare issues. This role has sharpened my ability to explain difficult concepts clearly and guide people from all backgrounds. I am PVG certified, professional, and committed to helping students succeed. My goal is to make sure every student I work with feels confident, supported, and equipped to achieve their best results.

Your lessons will be fully bespoke and student-oriented. I use enquiry-based and problem-based learning, keeping sessions student-led and placing you at the heart of your own education. A typical session lasts 1–2 hours, combining discussion, analysis, and structured feedback. I offer two services, either independently or as part of an integrated support programme: 1. Academic Writing Support -Focuses on essay structure, source usage, and argument development -Teaches techniques for finding and evaluating sources effectively -Includes tailored feedback that references your marking rubric directly 2. Politics & Social Sciences Tutoring -Provides guidance on political theory and relevant sociological perspectives -Assists in the exploration of current and recent events, linking them to theory and systems -Supports applying concepts and perspectives to assessments These lessons are aimed at A-level and undergraduate students in Politics and Social Sciences courses. They are designed to improve academic ability while fostering transferable skills that you will carry with you through university and the workplace.
