I am a student of Politics and History at the University of Aberdeen, with a year of experience in tutoring both History and Politics.
I utilise methods of teaching I learned on courses in the Air Training Corps, where I was an instructor cadet. This involves a highly effective teaching style, where there is greater emphasis placed on the interaction between the student and the tutor.

My lesson plans are very flexible and tailored to each student, with an emphasis on teacher-student interaction. As opposed to having the information dictated to them, the student is encouraged to actively engage in the lesson. This has yielded great results in the past!
An example of the concept of greater teacher-student interaction in action is my utilisation of the 40% rule. This rule is centred around the fact that we remember 40% of what we teach, compared to just 20% of what we write and only 10% of what we read.
As such, when I set a homework based on the prior tutorial, I encourage students to teach me the material that their homework is based on - the same material that I taught them the session prior. This is a very quick, but very effective exercise.
