About José

Final year undergraduate student in Political Science at the Universidad de Los Andes (ULA-VE), Assistant Researcher at the Center for the Study of Africa, Asia and Latin American and Caribbean Diasporas (CEAA); Academic Preceptor at School of Political Science, for Political Sociology Department; characterized for being disciplined, active, clear speaker, committed to learn and deliver the best of my abilities to my students; by a lifelong vocation, I have had a wonderful experiences teaching in various levels of Venezuelan education, from High School and Technical School until my preparation as prospective lecturer at ULA; I am continuing receiving solid technical training, in the use of several theoretical and methodological approaches in professional documentation, pedagogy, research and lecturing; I have attended and shared findings and magistral classes at important conferences and symposia, in countries as Colombia, El Salvador and Venezuela.

About the lesson

I am José Guilarte, a Senior-Year Political Science Student and Social Researcher at Universidad de Los Andes (Venezuela) who offers tutoring in several fields of Political Science, Discourse Analysis, Sociology, International Relations, Public Policy and Geopolitics.

I am always open and responsive for the student's needs, motivations and potential, specially for Undergraduate Students; with a strong vocation bond to pedagogy and to study strategies. I can help with direct lessons online; reporting, documentation and various written assingments on related subjects; support in research projects and; theoretical/methodological consultation for articles and monographies.

RESEARCH FIELDS

On Latin American Studies: I have specialized in both Latin American and African Studies during my path in Undergraduate Studies. I currently work with Postcolonialism, Economic History, Civic Republicanism, Political Thought, Intellectual History, Geopolitics and Political Sociology in Central and South American subregions. My Monography text to complete my Bachelor Degree will gather several of important elements for understanding Venezuelan political culture, and titles "ANALYTICAL RECONSTRUCTION OF THE REPUBLICAN IDEOLOGY IN THE VENEZUELAN PATRIOTIC SONGS (1810-1881)".

Regarding Africa, I have focused on Sociology, Geopolitics, Geostrategy, Integration Studies, Microregionalism and conflict theory for the comparative understanding of the African institutional and diplomatic history: key elements for the sustainability of contemporary and current political, border and commercial arrangements in the Region; my contributions have served the only research unit for African and Asian Studies in Venezuela: the "Centro de Estudios África, Asia y Diásporas Latinoamericanas", at Universidad de Los Andes.

TUTORING EXPERIENCE AND METHODOLOGY

In 2022, I was qualified and assigned by competition to be Academic Preceptor for the Political Sociology Department, developing assistant work in the updating and teaching of contents in the Annual and Obligatory subject "POLITICAL SOCIOLOGY III", corresponding to the Fourth Year of Undergraduate Studies in Political Science.

Among the topics provided for the student's complementary training, I could manage with solid ability the classical, avant-garde and postmodern theoretical assumptions on social organization, on political domination and, in particular, on social organization in the local and international scenes.

I have applied methodological preference on case studies, comparative assumptions and examples, as well as in the stimulation of knowledge production in the student, employing approaches such as New Institutionalism, Rational Choice, Game Theory, Political Pluralism, Political Neopluralism, Neocorporativism, Elite Theory, Discourse Analysis, Sociology of Religion, Neo-Marxism, Post-Marxism and Post-structuralism.

I ensure results, but also the needed variety of materials, from books to journal recommendations with a wide theoretical map; scope orientation, adapted didactics and visual resources to make lessons more synthetic and intuitive for the students.
