About Olivia

I’ve been tutoring since I graduated high school in 2016, both privately and with groups of boarding students at Great Southern Grammar School.

I graduated university with first class Honours in Political Science and International relations, and hold a Bachelor of Philosophy degree from the University of Western Australia. I am now a Master’s student with flexible tutoring hours.

I left school with an ATAR of 97.4 and was top of my class in the subjects of Modern History (for which I also scored in the top 0.5% of the state), Political and Legal Studies, Literature and Economics.
I enjoy finding new ways to present and explain concepts to students and find tutoring an extremely rewarding job.

About the lesson

I approach tutoring by trying to find an angle that interests students. There's always a way to make a subject relevant to a student's life, and finding that creates the basis for an actual interest in learning. I try to establish this in the first tutoring session, and use it as a basis for more specific help. This can include going over subjects presented in class, helping with research for assignments, giving feedback on draft work and general questions about the subject.
Every student is different, and I enjoy the challenge of finding what best works for them

She able to guide me my essay to ensure it was argumentative and made sure I understood the question specifically. She was also able to help out regarding another thing I was assessed during the semester. Olivia is very professional and would definitely recommend her!
