About Ben
My name is Ben, and I believe piano becomes much more enjoyable once students understand what they are doing instead of simply following instructions. I like helping students recognize patterns and ideas that make music easier to understand.
I am patient with the learning process and pay attention to the details that may be holding a student back. Sometimes a small change in fingering, rhythm, or practice method can completely change how comfortable a passage feels.
My aim is to create lessons that are structured without feeling rigid. You will have a clear direction, but there will also be room to explore the music and skills that interest you personally.

Piano lessons are centered around giving you a clear path from where you are now to where you want to be. Whether you are beginning, returning to piano, or trying to improve skills you already have, the lessons will be adjusted to your pace.
We can work on coordination, fingering, rhythm, reading music, chords, technique, ear training, and musical expression. Depending on your interests, we can also explore improvisation and understanding how songs are built.
Music will be chosen with both enjoyment and development in mind. You should be able to work on pieces you genuinely like while also improving the skills that will allow you to play more challenging music later.
Another important part of the lessons is learning how to practice. We will look at how to divide difficult passages, correct mistakes efficiently, and build consistency so that your practice time produces clearer results.
