About Hailey
Hi, I am a piano tutor with over 8 years of experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Collaborative Piano and Chamber Music. I offer personalized lessons built around each student's goals and musical taste. My specialty lies in pop piano arranging, modern chord voicings, and playing by ear for popular songs.
I enjoy helping students recreate their favorite songs in a way that feels natural and expressive. My teaching style is supportive and engaging, and I work with students at every level, from Beginner to Advanced, including those aiming for true mastery. No matter where someone starts, I meet them there and help them grow at their own pace.
I have experience teaching a wide range of styles, including pop, rock, R&B, and contemporary worship music. Some students want to play worship songs for their church, while others are focused on modern pop and R&B sounds, and I adjust my lessons to fit each interest. I love watching students go from reading notes to confidently playing songs they love by ear.

My methodology focuses on modern styles and practical application for popular music. Many students come to piano wanting to play the songs they already love, and I build my lessons around that goal. We start with pop piano techniques, so students get comfortable playing in a modern, accessible style right away.
Playing by ear is a skill I focus on early, since it helps students learn faster and rely less on written notation over time. From there, we work on chord voicings for popular songs, which gives even simple songs a fuller, more professional sound. Arranging contemporary pieces comes next, so students can take a song and truly make it their own.
Some students are picking up piano purely for fun and want to enjoy the process without pressure, and I keep lessons relaxed while still building real skill. Others are more focused on mastering current pop sounds and styles, so I push them to experiment with different voicings and arrangements. Either way, I encourage students to play their favorite songs as soon as possible, since that keeps motivation high.
Learning piano should feel rewarding from the very first lesson. We'll unlock the secrets of pop piano together.
