About Lumena
I am a piano tutor with over 25 years of experience teaching students from schools, colleges, and working professionals. My teaching philosophy emphasises patience, encouragement, and personalising lessons to each student’s learning style. I aim to make every lesson enjoyable, engaging, and productive while helping students develop technical skills, musical understanding, and expressive creativity. Throughout my career, my students have performed in recitals, competitions, and public events. I focus on both technique and musical expression, ensuring students not only play well but also connect emotionally with the music. Interactive exercises, personalised practice plans, and modern teaching tools make learning effective and enjoyable. My goal is to inspire a lifelong love for music while helping students achieve their musical aspirations. I provide guidance, motivation, and support at every stage of their piano journey.

My teaching methodology is based on compassion, patience, and clear communication. I believe piano learning should feel comfortable and encouraging for every student. I begin by teaching piano basics such as posture, hand position, finger technique, rhythm, and note reading. Lessons are explained clearly in simple English. I move forward only when students feel confident. Communication is an important part of my teaching. I listen carefully to students’ questions and concerns. I give regular feedback and supportive guidance to help them improve. Along with piano, I teach music theory, scales, chords, sight reading, and ear training. These subjects help students understand music better. I also guide students on effective practice routines. My supportive teaching style helps students stay motivated and enjoy learning music.
