About Jessika
I have been playing piano for 14 years and have been teaching piano for over two years now. I spent my first year and a half years teaching in a music store in Queenstown where I had up to 30 students per week, and since moving to Nelson, I began privately teaching from my home. I also play guitar and violin and have just started the banjo!

Each student is different, everyone comes in with different intentions of why they are wanting to learn. Music is to be enjoyed and playing it should not feel like a chore! I like to encourage students to just start playing, rather than throwing them straight into the deep end of theory and trying to learn all the rules at once. My main focus, especially for kids, is to get them curious about it, that way they can make the choice themselves on pushing forward with the piano.
