About Lucas
My passion for piano began with a fascination for the instrument’s expressive range, which led me to earn a B.Mus in Piano Performance and Music Education. Over 9 years, I have guided students of different ages and skill levels, helping them develop technical mastery, expressive interpretation, and performance confidence. My teaching integrates both foundational skills and advanced musical concepts, allowing learners to progress steadily while enjoying the process.
I follow a student-focused approach, tailoring lessons to individual learning styles, goals, and interests. Lessons combine technical exercises, repertoire practice, improvisation, and interpretive guidance. I prioritize encouragement, structured feedback, and gradual skill development, supporting students in gaining both mastery and expressive freedom. This method helps learners explore creativity while building strong technique.
Outside of teaching, I engage with performance, music theory, and modern pedagogical research, which allows me to introduce new repertoire, interpretive ideas, and practical performance strategies. Teaching piano is deeply fulfilling because I witness learners transform from tentative beginners into confident performers capable of expressing both technical skill and emotional artistry through music.
