About Aubrey
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance and have 7 years of experience teaching students of all ages. My teaching philosophy emphasizes the balance of technical mastery, expressive interpretation, and individualized guidance. I focus on creating a nurturing environment where students feel supported, confident, and encouraged to explore their musical potential.
I structure lessons according to each student’s level and goals. Beginners work on fundamental technique and simple pieces, intermediate learners refine interpretation and sight-reading, and advanced students tackle complex repertoire, improvisation, and performance preparation. Lessons include exercises, repertoire work, and constructive feedback to ensure steady growth and musical development.
Outside of teaching, I perform regularly, study diverse repertoire, and explore innovative teaching methods to enrich my lessons. Helping students build technical skill, confidence, and expressive ability is the most fulfilling part of my work, as I witness them transform into independent, expressive musicians.

My piano lessons focus on building technical strength and musical understanding from the first session. Students work on finger independence, scales, arpeggios, chord progressions, sight-reading, rhythm, and expressive interpretation. Each lesson balances structured exercises with repertoire practice, ensemble or duet playing, and improvisation to ensure learners develop both skill and creativity. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable experimenting and exploring their musical voice, while gaining confidence and consistency in technique.
Lessons are tailored to the student’s level and goals. Beginners focus on proper posture, hand positioning, reading notation, and simple melodies to build a strong foundation. Intermediate learners refine sight-reading, phrasing, dynamic control, and technical fluency through increasingly challenging repertoire. Advanced students explore complex works, improvisation, ensemble coordination, and recital preparation. Constructive feedback, interactive exercises, and guided practice ensure steady progress and a deeper understanding of musical interpretation.
The ultimate goal of my piano teaching is to nurture technically skilled, confident, and expressive musicians. Students learn to perform music thoughtfully and creatively, develop ensemble skills, and gain a lifelong appreciation for the piano. Every session combines disciplined practice with creative exploration, making learning both rewarding and inspiring.
