About Eleanor
I have 12 years of experience teaching piano and hold a Bachelor’s in Piano Performance and a Master’s in Music Pedagogy. My academic studies included advanced solo repertoire, ensemble collaboration, performance psychology, and structured teaching methodology. I have worked with beginners and advanced learners, guiding them from basic technique development to confident public performance.
I believe piano education should combine structure with encouragement. I carefully evaluate each student’s strengths and areas for improvement before designing a balanced lesson plan. Clear demonstrations, patient correction, and consistent motivation help learners progress steadily. I focus on long-term musical growth rather than short-term achievement.
Outside teaching, I continue refining my performance skills and studying new repertoire to expand my musical perspective. My piano lessons are designed to build strong technical foundations while encouraging expressive musical understanding. I begin by correcting posture, hand shape, wrist alignment, and finger strength to ensure comfortable and efficient movement across the keyboard. These fundamentals directly affect tone control, speed development, and long-term playing comfort. Students practise structured scale exercises, arpeggios, and rhythm drills to strengthen coordination between both hands. I explain each technical step in simple English so learners clearly understand how controlled movement improves sound clarity and musical balance.
As students progress, I introduce more advanced techniques such as dynamic control, phrasing, articulation, and pedal coordination. Music theory concepts, including chord construction and harmonic progression, are gradually integrated to deepen understanding. Students apply these ideas by learning complete pieces that challenge both technical skill and emotional interpretation. Weekly practice plans help learners manage home study effectively and track steady improvement. Regular feedback sessions ensure that technical weaknesses are identified and corrected early.
Performance preparation is also included through simulated recitals and focus-building exercises. I guide students in developing stage confidence, concentration, and expressive maturity. My goal is to help pianists perform with technical accuracy, artistic depth, and lasting confidence.
