About Amy
Teaching music is my passion, and I have been teaching piano lessons for over 20 years. I also study with a man who is a Dr. of piano performance. I am able to pour my heart into my students because I am constantly studying and learning.

I make music theory fun! My students know that we will drill on everything from scales and triads to chords and intervals at the beginning of every lesson. Then we find ways to use what they are learning and we seek to identify it in the music they are playing. This way they are constantly connecting the dots behind theory and application. Even with my youngest students, I start building a foundation for advanced theory concepts by breaking it down to what they can understand and then build up from there. I use a variety of resources depending on the student.
