About Othniel
I am a passionate music tutor and pianist who enjoys helping students discover the joy and confidence that comes from understanding music. I believe learning an instrument should be more than memorizing notes; it should develop musical understanding, creativity and independence.
My teaching approach combines music theory with practical piano playing, allowing students to understand what they are playing and why it works. I particularly enjoy helping beginners build a strong foundation before gradually progressing into chords, scales, accompaniment, improvisation and song interpretation.
Whether you are completely new to the piano or already have some experience and want to improve, I will guide you patiently and progressively, adapting lessons to your pace and goals.
My aim is simple: to help you become a musician who can understand, play and create music with confidence.

My lessons are designed to take students from the basics of piano playing to confident intermediate musicianship through a clear, practical and progressive approach. I focus on building strong foundations in finger coordination, note reading, technique, scales, chords, chord progressions, transposition, key identification and improvisation.
Students learn through carefully selected classical and contemporary pieces. We gradually introduce block chords, broken chords, major scales, correct fingering patterns and common chord progressions.
My goal is not simply to teach students how to reproduce songs. I want them to understand why the music works, develop their musical ear, and eventually hear a song and begin figuring out its chords and structure independently.
Lessons are suitable for beginners and intermediate learners, with each lesson adapted to the student's pace, goals and current ability. Whether your goal is to play for personal enjoyment, accompany songs, understand music theory, or become a more confident pianist, we build the skill step by step.
