About Alycia
Sometimes I admit that I am just as much a student as I am a teacher. Having worked with 175 students, I have learned that every person needs a different path to master hand independence.
I bring my BS Recording Arts background into our lessons, which helps me explain classical repertoire through a unique lens. Working with people of all ages, I emphasize ear training and sight transposition to build a solid foundation.
My personal narrative centers on 10 years of turning rough ideas into polished results. I prioritize ABRSM and Trinity exam prep to ensure you have clear, measurable success.
I provide a progress tracker that I share with parents every month to keep everyone on the same page. You will also find that accompaniment skills are a major part of how we build your musicality. I look forward to helping you reach your specific goals at the piano.

Sight reading is often the biggest hurdle for new pianists. 6.0 is the grade level where many students hit a plateau that requires a fresh perspective. I use my 10 years of experience to break down complex classical pieces into manageable steps. We focus on the nuance of touch and the clarity of your performance.
It is a pleasure to watch students gain confidence as they master these technical challenges. Music is a lifelong journey, and I am happy to guide you through the process.
