About David
After graduating with a BA (Hons) in music from Reading University, I started working at the Royal Academy of Music before moving to Trinity College of Music. I qualified with an MA in Music from the Open University. I am now just starting a PhD in music, and I am also a Fellow of the Guild of Musicians and Singers, and the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
Although I now work full time in IT, I love being able to pass on my love and knowledge of music to my pupils. In my spare time, I play and conduct brass bands, and enjoy singing in choirs whenever I get the chance.

I'm currently a PhD music student with many hundreds of hours of experience teaching piano, brass and music theory from beginners to grade 8, and over 40 years experience as a performer. I have grade 8 in piano and tenor horn, grade 7 in French horn, plus two music degrees. I'm able to teach all brass instruments, and I particularly enjoy teaching music theory. I have a 100% exam pass rate.
I can teach online (or face to face if you are local to me) and I currently have pupils from as far away as Portugal. I can teach all ages - the youngest I have taught was 5, and the oldest 70.
Lessons are usually 30 minutes or an hour, depending on the pupil's preferences. If you prefer two shorter lessons each week instead of one longer one, then that is no problem either.
I am DBS checked and approved.
