About Opal
My lessons combine the power of physics with the creativity of computation to make learning both engaging and practical. I use a nurturing and personalized approach that helps students explore physics through computer-based problem-solving. Together, we’ll dive into computer modeling, data visualization, and scientific programming to see how physics works beyond the textbook. Through coding and simulations, you’ll learn to visualize motion, energy, and forces in dynamic ways. We’ll explore numerical methods that make it possible to study complex systems and uncover hidden patterns in nature. Even if you’re new to coding, I’ll guide you patiently through every step until you feel confident. I encourage students to think like problem-solvers, using technology to test ideas and design virtual experiments. Many of my learners go on to apply these skills in engineering projects, research, and creative innovation. Each lesson is designed to help you understand, experiment, and discover. You’ll gain both a deeper understanding of physics and the computational skills that power modern science. I’ll be there to support your progress and celebrate your success as you master these exciting tools.

I’m a Physics tutor with over 8 years of experience and a BSc in Biophysics. I have a deep passion for exploring the fascinating world of applied optics and helping students see how light shapes the technologies we use every day. My lessons focus on understanding light propagation, total internal reflection, lens design, and image formation in a hands-on, practical way.
I love using real-world examples from telecommunications to show how fiber optics transmit information at incredible speeds using total internal reflection. In biomedical imaging, I guide students through how microscopes use lenses and controlled light paths to reveal the intricate details of cells and tissues. These lessons connect abstract concepts to real applications, making learning both clear and exciting.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of mentoring aspiring engineers and future medical device developers, helping them apply optical physics to their designs and innovations. I encourage curiosity, experimentation, and creative problem-solving in every session. My goal is to ensure students not only understand the science but can confidently apply it to modern technology.
