About Nicola

I have a Master's degree in Physics with Astronomy from the University of Nottingham, having graduated in 2019. I have tutored 3 children so far, all with very good feedback - ages 12 up to 16. The 12 year old progressed from a C student to an A student over 6 months of tutoring with me in a range of subjects. I am also currently tutoring 3 students so far via Superprof, all with great feedback.

I am most comfortable tutoring in Maths and Physics, but I also have extensive experience in scientific writing and great spelling and grammar skills, should any students require proof reading from me.

About the lesson

I know that every student has their own unique way of learning. My teaching style is flexible to account for this - students may approach me with specific questions or problem areas they are stuck on for us to work through together, or simply request a lesson on a certain topic that they found confusing. I have a patient approach to teaching and endeavour to give my students a comprehensive understanding of a subject, whatever it may be. However complicated or daunting Maths and Physics may seem, there is always a logic to it, and I will help you to see that!

Please note: I work full time 9-6 so all my lessons take place virtually in the evenings/weekends

Nicola is my next door neighbour. She has been coming to tutor my three children ranging in age from 11-15 for a couple of years. She is extremely versatile, helping my older child with gcse sciences and inspiring my youngest daughter to produce good homework in all areas of the curriculum.

All of my children have bonded with her extremely well and look forward to her coming over for their sessions. She is trustworthy and extremely reliable. She brings out the best in them and I feel very lucky to have found her to help with their educational needs.
