About Álvaro

I am a Spanish physicist based in Dublin. I studied Physics at the University of Salamanca and have spent the last five years working as an engineer, applying mathematics and physical modeling in real industry projects. I am currently pursuing an MSc in Medical Physics, which keeps me actively engaged with the fundamentals of the subject every day.

I decided to start tutoring because I genuinely enjoy explaining physics and math, and I find satisfaction in seeing a student move from confusion to clarity. These subjects have a reputation for being difficult, but in most cases the difficulty comes down to a few foundational gaps that, once addressed, make everything else fall into place.

About the lesson

I hold a BSc in Physics and am currently completing an MSc in Medical Physics. I have spent five years working professionally in a field where physics and mathematics are applied daily, which means I can connect abstract concepts to real-world problems in a way that makes them easier to grasp.

My sessions are tailored to each student. I start by identifying exactly where the difficulty lies, then work through it systematically with clear explanations and plenty of practice problems. I do not just teach to the exam, but understanding the material deeply is also the most reliable way to perform well on the day.

Sessions are typically one hour. I work with Junior Cert and Leaving Cert students at both Higher and Ordinary Level, in person in Dublin or online.
