About Batista
BSc Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Bath. Currently working as a full stack developer and data scientist in Dubai, with production experience in AI, machine learning, and data systems.
The subjects I tutor are ones I use professionally and studied formally, not ones I picked up to fill a profile. Math, physics, and statistics were the backbone of my degree. Programming and data science are my day job.
I have been explaining these subjects to people since secondary school, which means I have had time to figure out where the actual confusion tends to live in each topic, and how to address it without just re-explaining the textbook.

I ask for your material 1 to 2 days before the session, lecture notes, past exams, problem sets, plus the specific things that aren't clicking. That way I show up prepared.
The session itself splits in two. First half we go through your material directly: your exercises, your professor's style, corrections and explanations grounded in what was actually taught in your class. Second half is my own exercises targeting the real underlying concepts, not to make things harder but because being able to reproduce what your prof likes and actually understanding the mechanics are two different things, and you need both.
Sessions run 1.5 to 2 hours.
No formal teaching credential. What I do have is about 10 years of being the person people called when something wasn't making sense, classmates from sixth grade through university, my brother, friends. One-on-one explaining is a different skill from knowing the material and I've had a lot of reps.
I work with secondary and undergraduate students in math, physics, statistics, programming, and data science, mainly British, IB, or university curricula.
