About Martin
I am a recently retired physician/scientist, having worked for more than 40 years as a pathologist. I mastered chemistry, biology, physics, mathematics, and statistics, applying those subjects to investigate and solve problems in medicine and biology. I have tutored my own children, as well as students from middle school, college students, graduate students, medical students, medical residents, and practicing scientists.
I earned B.S. in chemistry (University of Maryland), M.D. (University of Maryland), Residency (University of Maryland Hospital).
I worked at the National Institutes of Health, the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Dallas, and Quest Diagnostics.
I have written board question for Medical Specialty Boards.
I greatly respect all students, knowing that each of us have our own special gifts and strengths.

My method: Determine each students strong and weak points, then develop subject understanding to master the subject.
Lessons:
Mathematics: from high school algebra through college calculus and linear algebra.
Chemistry: from high school chemistry through college biochemistry and physical chemistry.
Physics: from high school physics to college thermodynamics and waves.
Biology: high school and college biology subjects, and most areas of healthcare.
Statistics: Applied.
Having used the sciences over my career in practical applications, I emphasize insight over rote learning, so that the students grasp not only these subjects, but become life long learners.
