About James
I have been taking photographs since the early 1980s working with the Air Force, as a lab Quality Controller, covering live events and media creation for a touring musician and now based in WA where I am building a career working on portraiture, food and drink and live events.
I speak good clear English and also a little German.
My aim is to lead clients through the relatively simple concepts of photography referencing old technology as well as the reality of the digital age so you understand the limitations of both and including the thinking behind how a photograph is composed and finished before the client sees it.

My personal motivation is creating imagery that has a top level photographic quality combined with a distinct look. With lessons starting at an hour in length and with practical challenges we'll create images and then critique them to understand anything that might be improved. Added in, I'll include Lightroom tutorials and even touch on Photoshop so that post-production isn't a foreign concept.
I have previously run in-person classes for beginners and also studio shooting so that people are not over awed when getting to a studio the first few times.
