About George
I have recently graduated from an MA (Hons) in philosophy with First Class Honours from the University of Edinburgh, and have experience at both school and university in aiding students in both philosophy and other related subjects in their understanding of core philosophical concepts in order for them to get the best marks in exams. I have been described my many as a clear and encouraging tutor capable of working out what someone finds difficult and helping them work out the best way of engaging with tough texts>
I have a good, broad understanding of most areas of philosophy, and have studied both under the UK analytic tradition and the European Continental tradition. I can therefore give good, clear lessons on a wide range of topics depending on the interests of students, and am more than willing to research topics that I am less familiar with in order to help as best I can.

I offer relaxed, private lessons to individuals or groups with a desire to engage in philosophy, whether on the history of philosophy, broader concepts, literary analysis or formal logic. I recently graduated from the University of Edinburgh and so understand that many ideas can seem complex at first and may need further explanation either one-to-one or in small groups. My focus in on your understanding: I want to make sure above all else that you grasp the relevant concepts before analysing and criticising them in depth, and I am prepared to devote as much time as possible to aiding in that endeavour. I teach all ages and can travel between St. Andrews and Edinburgh if needs be, so if you're a student wanting a bit of extra help or someone with a real interest in the subject I'd be happy to meet you!
