My method for writing lessons involves first ensuring my students have the necessary fundamental skills and knowledge required for their writing. This includes knowledge of proper grammar, research skills, critical thinking skills, and communication skills.
I will work with students to ensure that they master these skills while increasing their comfort with writing. Depending on the student's needs I may provide them creative writing prompts, or assist them in their writing for school. Whatever their needs, my goal is to help them become a comfortable and professional writer.
My method in literature lessons is to curate a reading list for students which incorporates both their interests and their academic needs. Then to assign supplemental material which provides context for the main reading and assists the student's understanding of the reading's themes.
I can also assist students in understanding literature which they're assigned in school or elsewhere. I have a wide range of knowledge in the historical and philosophical bases of literature which I can use to assist a student in understanding any piece of literature.
I can assist high school students in grades 8-12, and college students in the Philosophy major according to degree focus. Please reach out with information on your needs, I will be happy to let you know if I'm a good fit to be your instructor!
