About Jesus

My name is Jesús, I am 20 years old and I am a Philosophy student at the Rey Juan Carlos University. I did the International Baccalaureate and moved to England to study Video Game Design and Development, although due to the pandemic and personal problems I was forced to return to Spain, where I reacquainted myself with Philosophy, a subject that I had always considered my favorite in my high school studies.

I have always had a tendency to enjoy teaching and have enjoyed the opportunities that have arisen for me to be able to help in any philosophical area of learning.

About the lesson

Philosophy reinforcement classes for ESO, Baccalaureate and International Baccalaureate students. I have previous experience giving tutoring classes to a small group of IB students with very good results.

I try to be totally transparent with my teaching process to facilitate dialogue and adaptability. I usually prepare the classes in advance, I like to establish a schematic script of how the class is going to proceed to facilitate the follow-up of it. As even following the same syllabi, each center and teacher are unique, I like to first review the syllabus and materials to facilitate learning.

Within reason, I try to make each class on a specific topic , so we can fully focus on it. As I usually take my own notes, I like to share all the materials that I obtain and generate after classes through any Virtual Classroom service such as Google Classroom, as well as any material that I have used in the preparation of the class or mentioned during this one, in case they are useful or arouse curiosity in my students. In this way, I facilitate the subsequent study of the subject for the student, as well as ease the integration with their own studies of the subject in their center.

I like to use a blackboard or a visual support to facilitate schemes and do more Easy to understand the concepts of the subject. Philosophy can be hostile to high school students due to the LOMCE's need to memorize large amounts of complex content, without reasoning behind it. In my experience, it is incredibly easy to learn this type of concepts once they have been understood, so I usually focus on explaining them in a simple way, prioritizing understanding, in order to progressively go into depth. I also like that the student has the option of interrupting at any time, even if it implies that we lengthen, to clarify a doubt however simple it may be, in philosophy there are no silly questions.
