About Benedict
My name is Ben (no need to call me Benedict - only my mum does that!), I went through my secondary school education completely rejecting any help from anyone, including my teachers - thinking I needed to do everything on my own. Having come out the other side of university I now realise how much easier my life could have been had I just reached out for help, and now I want to offer and provide the help that could have aided me to those who need it. Career-wise, I am pursuing a career in academia - I plan on completing my PhD in Philosophy and Art History within the next five years with the goal of lecturing at the university level, so teaching will be a part of my life for a long time to come. I can promise that you will get the best of my efforts and abilities that I have accrued over the years, but most importantly I can promise that you will be listened to - I want to cultivate an atmosphere that will make it easy to open up about what you are really struggling with, without the anxiety about being judged. I look forward to hearing from you, and helping you with whatever academic needs you require! :)

Listening and adaptation are the two tenets of my teaching philosophy, by understanding the needs of my clients I can craft truly personal teaching plans to focus on resolving the systemic issues behind gaps in knowledge or cruxes of misunderstanding within the student. The typical length of a lesson with me will be 1 hour, but alterations or modifications to this time slot can be arranged. I obtained an Honours degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Warwick in 2024, and have recently accepted an unconditional offer to study an MLitt in the History of Art at the University of St. Andrews commencing this year. At the GCSE level I obtained 10 A* and 1 A, and the equivalent of A*A*A*A at A level. My lessons are for those students studying A Levels, GCSEs, Advanced Placement (AP), or SAT students.
