About Marize
I am a dynamic teacher, and I value the unique approach each student requires to tap into their skills. I have a highly discursive teaching style, which makes sessions with me feel like hanging out with a friend as opposed to a stressful and forced environment. Arts and culture are my forte; I am creative to my core and love connecting with people. This means that we will creatively approach learning and overcoming academic struggles on your terms. More than academics, I aspire to make learning meaningful outside the classroom. The world of arts, culture, and language has a bearing on all our lives, whether we excel academically in them or not. I urge my students to find the value of content and concept outside of set materials and academic obligations because succeeding in formal structures will flow from a genuine passion for the work.

I am a philosophy masters student at Stellenbosch University. I graduated my BA Language and Culture degree, majoring in Philosophy and English as well as my Honours in Philosophy (Cum Laude). I am tutoring philosophy for my university which is why I feel comfortable with tutoring others as well. Throughout my academic career I have found that the learning style that works best for me is to teach and discuss the work with others. This is why I love tutoring. I am a very good communicator and one of my core strengths is that I have a unique way of explaining work so that everybody understands it.
