About Jordan
I am a senior majoring in philosophy and German studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Previously, I have taken graduate-level seminars on philosophy of mind, legal epistemology, Nietzsche, and the philosophy of punishment. I am the editor-in-chief for UNC’s undergraduate philosophy journal Aperto Animo. Moreover, I am a member of UNC’s intercollegiate ethics bowl team. With extensive involvement in philosophy during my undergraduate career, I intend to apply for graduate school programs in philosophy during the next application cycle. Broadly speaking, my philosophical interests span the areas of bioethics, philosophy of mind, metaphysics, Kant, and post-Kantian philosophy.

Struggling with philosophy or ethics? I help people break down complex ideas, understand difficult readings, and turn their thoughts into clear, well-structured arguments. Whether you're preparing for exams or writing essays, I’ll guide you step by step so you feel confident in both understanding and expressing your ideas.
My approach is discussion-based and focused on critical thinking. I aim to help you understand how to analyze arguments, question assumptions, and develop your own perspective. I simplify complex material and adapt each lesson to your pace and learning style.
We start by identifying what you need help with, whether it’s a specific topic, reading, or assignment. I explain key concepts in a clear way, then we work through examples together. I’ll guide you in building strong arguments and improving your writing, with time for questions and feedback throughout.
I focus on making philosophy practical and understandable. With experience in writing and research, I help you not only understand ideas but also express them clearly in essays and discussions. My goal is to help you think independently!
I work with high school and college students studying philosophy or ethics, especially those who feel overwhelmed by dense readings or are unsure how to structure their arguments. :)
