About Catriona
I am a 25 year-old PhD student based in Manchester City Centre. I completed my undergraduate degree of physiology at The University of Glasgow before moving to Manchester to complete my Masters degree in Cardiovascular Health and Disease.
Outside of my academic career, I play hockey for Bowdon Hockey Club in the English Premier League. I absolutely love the team nature and spending my weekends travelling the country and competing with friends.
I am an outgoing and social person who will try to build a strong relationship with my students to ensure our sessions can be as fun and engaging as possible, whilst also being educational.
As a PhD student, I can be flexible with sessions which could be beneficial leading up to exam season.

I am based in Manchester City Centre for in-person tutoring sessions, but I am also happy to conduct online sessions.
It is really important that I get to know my students and understand their method of learning and retaining information so that I can adapt our session to obtain the best outcome.
I am happy to be student-led and provide the level of support required, but a typical session would be 1 hour long with out-of-session work and support also provided.
I have a first class undergraduate degree, and a Masters with Distinction, both in the biological and medical fields. I am therefore confident to tutor GCSE and A Level students in biology and chemistry, and undergraduate students in biological subjects.
