About Saahithi
I am a PhD student studying genomics, and computational biology! I am looking to tutor because I know firsthand how difficult learning can be, and it took me years to understand my learning style and to develop a love for learning. I graduated in May of 2023 with my Bachelor's degree in biomedical informatics, and a certificate in computational life sciences. Happy to be here and meet ya!

My teaching method is to explain a concept, ask probing questions, and to try and guide the student towards getting to that answer. I try to be as encouraging and validating as possible - we can learn from the incorrect answers and the correct ones!
A typical lesson plan will follow the same track of concepts the student is learning in class (so they can do well in school). We will discuss the concept, the student will tell me what they don't understand, I will provide a few questions to gauge understanding, and then we can discuss their homework assignment/test questions!
I think what sets me apart as a tutor is that I try to be as motivating as possible and not to overwhelm my students. School can be really difficult, and as a graduate student, I have my fair share of failures. Being empathetic to a student is really important to fostering a good mentor-mentee relationship, and I think having respect for my student will lead to a conducive relationship.
I'd love to tutor middle, high school, or undergraduate students in introductory classes!
